Silicone Rubber

Silicone rubber is a synthetic polymer type that has very special functions and advantages. This is because it has some physical properties not found in other synthetic rubber polymer types.

Some of the advantages of silicone rubber are as follows:

Resistant to weather
Resistant to aging
Resistant to temperatures up to 250°C and also resistant to cold temperatures.

Silicone rubber is stable at temperature range of 100°C - 250°C. Performance of silicone rubber is more durable than other organic elastomers. When compared to natural rubber, silicone rubber is an excellent electrical insulation and has better fireproof properties. Properties such as volume resistance, dielectric strength and other strength factors are not affected by temperature changes. These properties are known as thermal stability. In addition to some of the advantages mentioned above, one of the uniqueness of silicone rubber is to have an anti-sticky surface, this makes it much needed as a material to prevent the occurrence of bonding or sticking of an object against other objects. For example: a sticky pan, bread or cake mold and other products.

Products made from silicone rubber materials are widely available in our daily lives such as rubber bracelets, household appliances, equipment in our cars or vehicles, supporting equipment in home or other larger construction buildings. Even some parts of solar heating appliances are made from silicone rubber / silicone rubber, where the elasticity of the material helps the panel withstand high or low temperatures.
